The image was scanned (Epson 4180 Photo) after adjusting the red, green, and blue curves to maximize useful density. Additional highlight brightening and shadow enhancement was done (PictureWindow Pro) before gif generation in StereoPhotoMaker, a freeware program by Masuji Suto & David Sykes.
